With this slow itinerary that takes you out into the countryside you will get a taste of the madeiran way of life on a sunday morning.

We'll drive out from Funchal and go to the southwest part of the island. We start our tour with a very easy walk along a ”levada”, the famous water channels, seeing how the farmers live and what they grow on their fields.

Then, we'll visit a farmer's market in “Prazeres“ village breathing in the different smells and colours, seing what the locals do in a sunday morning. The parish church is next to a “Quinta”, a property where they make and sell all sorts of  products from the land.

In Quinta dos Prazeres, a nice cup of tea will be prepared for you with a slice of home made cake.

From the countryside then we make our way back to Funchal and finish the tour.

Special Remarks

A half day tour out in the countryside. It includes an easy walk along a “levada” for about 1 hour where you will enjoy the country scenery. This tour gives you a taste of the local life and flavours on a sunday morning. A tour you won't forget .

Includes Minibus and a qualified local guide, a short levada walk, a visit to the local market, tea & cake.
